Sarah and her daughter Jossie travel light. In October 2015 they travelled to India. Sarah contacted us because she had lots of room in her luggage and wanted to fill a suitcase with shoes. Sarah & Jossie distributed sandals to the 30 boys who live at the Snehalayam Orphanage.
Thanks to http://www.wearebulletproof.com, your Sal's Shoes found new feet with https://www.vitalforchildren.org in October 2017 in India. VITAL gives disadvantaged youth better childhoods and brighter futures by providing equal education, healthcare, protective services and sustainable community development. Their mission is to curb human trafficking, forced marriages and second-generation prostitution of minors in Kolkata, India, whilst giving each individual those childhood memories we all look back on fondly. Sal's Shoes were distributed at their Anirban School, which provides fundamental education to rural children who are not yet enrolled in governmental schools. On average, illiteracy levels are highest in the rural areas of India so by distributing the shoes here hopefully more children will be encouraged to learn.
